When we first discussed the exhibition we were aiming at a rhythm between figuration and abstraction that suggests both the figure and the space it occupies. McReynolds took it even further, creating a new series that takes the figure out but explores the energy left behind in a startling group of abstract works with dynamic shapes and brilliant colors that suggest a presence more as a field of energy. These are visionary paintings with a hint at something mystical. The paintings are transporting and excitingly new. Brigitte has also been working in three dimensions and will unveil new sculptural works that play even further with her exploration of form and substance.
