Artist Anthony Chase grew up on the flat desert of Nevada. He began drawing early and became fascinated, not just with the masters of art but also with the new wave of graphic novelists who were becoming more and more innovative in their approaches to the medium. The work was seen not just as Illustration but as an essential part of storytelling. Beginning with dry mediums such as pencil, charcoal and pastel, Chase began to develop a style that danced between drawing and painting and his work developed a character of its own. His art deals primarily with an exploration of memories and their associations to simple experiences. Often objects are portrayed as triggers to stories of the past.
