Arian Dylan
I met Arian Dylan by chance when I went to give a talk on artist books at the Fresno Art Museum. Arian,who is a native of Mexico had a summer exchange program at the museum and was creating works out of cut books. Among them were these "seed books", created from cutout sections of books. The beauty of the edges and the utter simplicity of these works replicate nature in an astonishing way.
Arian Dylan was born in Oaxaca, Mexico. He earned his degree with honorable mention in the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda". He has exibited his work in Japan, Canada, Spain, USA and Mexico.
He currently resides in Oaxaco, where he will be exhibiting his latest project, The Virgin Buddha.
