more work by Lin Max (stay tuned for link)
Lin Max is an artist who clearly loves books. Her work plays with structures and integrates images, text and stitching in a way that creates a visual poem, hinting at meanings and associations but allowing the viewer to read between the lines. She received her BA from UC Davis and her MA from the University of Denver and Arizona State University.
Lin Max's intelligent and highly crafted books were so consistent that there were more books that we could reasonably put in the show.
Therefore, we will have a one person exhibition of her books in the Book Room in September along with our exhibition for Emily Payne.

This is an extraordinary book in every way. The multiplicity of images and forms gives a subtle mapping of the complexity of each human being. Diagrams and old photos, notes and drawings - all giving witness to how varied we all are and such a patchwork of stories all stitched together.
