My ABC Book

Story: I was inspired to make this "Jacob's Ladder" formed alphabet book when my sister gave me a handmade cross-stitched pillow case. I looked at early American embroidery samplers and thought of how the young girls learned their ABCs by carefully stitching the outlines of the letters. This led me to making an artist book using real embroidery thread to cross-stitch the letters into the handy and magical format that opens one way to show the first half of the alphabet and then folds shut; the second half appears when the book is opened from the back cover.
