Karen Gilbert is a known name in the world of art jewelry. Her forms are sophisticated with an eye toward nature and science and an ongoing exploration of her materials.
Karen has twice won an award of achievement from the American Craft Council and was part of an exhibition of jewelry at the Tacoma Museum of Art which has her work in their collection.
Born in 1971 in Oregon, Karen studied at the University of San Francisco, the California College of the Arts (formerly CCAC) and the Pilchuck Glass School. Her ability to create forms that are fresh and in tune with nature has put her at the forefront of the art of jewelry making.
